What’s in a name?
Well, in the case of HELM’s latest and most poignant development Austin, it’s a homage to more than a century of family history.
Born in 1894, Austin William Edwards pioneered a construction dynasty that still proudly bears his name, A W Edwards, and today it remains one of the oldest and most successful construction companies in Australia.
Now up to its fourth generation, A W Edwards holds an indelible bond with Northbridge and the building which HELM invites you to consider as your new home.
The Edwards family moved to the picturesque suburb in the mid-1930s while the company built the clubhouse on the Northbridge Golf Course. Some 50 years later A W Edwards purchased a four-storey commercial building on the corner of Sailors Bay Road, Harden Avenue and Timms Lane which became its corporate headquarters.
In 2010 Austin’s grandsons, Bruce and Malcolm Edwards – along with Mark Monk – seized upon a gap in the Sydney housing market to launch HELM. Underpinned by the financial strength, stability and construction expertise of the Edwards Family, HELM quickly became a leader in developing spacious, luxurious apartments within boutique-size buildings in convenient Sydney locations for affluent empty nesters and downsizers.
